In addition to design tasks, I am responsible for developing new and existing backpack designs and supporting the development of new and existing tents. Furthermore, I handle various graphic design duties.
Bags
My specialised knowledge is backpacks with a capacity of 16-34 liters, ensuring they feature a robust shoulder strap and harness system, and provide an ergonomic fit for maximum comfort. I manage the transformation of data from our existing backpack designs to new suppliers. This involves detailed documentation, prototyping, and quality assurance to maintain our high standards.
Additionally, I develop accessories such as small bags, tote bags, rain ponchos, bucket hats and textile packaging.
Tents
As an assistant product developer for tents, I am specialized in tent construction, such as the flysheet and inner tent fit, and features like windows and ventilation. A key area of my work involves the development of inflatable airframes, which are rather unique in the tent world. This requires specialized knowledge about air pressure, airtight materials, and the physics of geodesic structures that provide stability when inflated.
Graphic Design
My work involves various graphic design tasks for online and print. This includes creating the lookbook fror Heimplanet, dropsheets for B2B customers, comprehensive manuals that provide clear instructions for tent setup, ensuring users have all the information they need for a good outdoor experience. I also design other materials such as informative and visually appealing hangtags, merch products, and postcards, enhancing customer interaction and brand loyalty.
